Community Resource Coordinators

A Community Resource Coordinator is a bridge builder (bridges the gap) between the church, home and school by offering the following assistance:

1. Provide a hot line that provides information to agencies that give assistance in all areas of community services.  The phone would have a receptionist to answer the phone during office hours, an after hour voice mail, and a 24 hour number to call in case of emergencies.
2. Assist in coordinating services for children and families within the church, private, and public agencies by linking family members to needed services in the community.
3. Provide opportunities for parents to enhance their knowledge of child development.
4. Conduct parent workshops.
5. When invited, go into classrooms and be a child's frined when a child is under stress stemming from problems at home.
6. Refer children (when identified) with special needs:  dentist, eye doctor, behavior and hardship specialist.
7. Keep summary of all assistance and referrals that aid children and families.
